1. SUTA will be authorized to meet the needs of the unit, not for the convenience of the soldier.

2. All requests for SUTA must be authorized IN ADVANCE by the Commander.

3. Enlisted personnel will submit SUTA requests thru the chain of command.

4. Officers will submit SUTA requests thru the Executive Officer

5. No SUTA will be authorized until the requesting soldier has committed to a date for substitution of a drill.

6. SUTA completion must be within 45 days of the date requested (before or after).

7. Completed SUTA forms (CAL ARNG FROM 350-2R – AUTHORIZATION AND CERTIFICATION FOR INACTIVE DUTY TRAINING) are to be FAXed to SSG Kramer (562-795-1018).

8.Any soldier not completing SUTA as authorized will be ineligible to request SUTA for one year.

9. For a second failure to complete SUTA as authorized, the soldier will be ineligible to request SUTA for a two year period.

10. For a third failure to complete SUTA as authorized, the soldier will be ineligible to request SUTA for a five year period.

11. Completed SUTA forms are to be kept on file for further reference
