National Program Manager for Medical Education Programs for the
Department of Veterans Affairs, Employee Education System
NATURE, SCOPE, AND EXTENT
OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
National Program Manager responsible for educational design of medical programs and quality assurance programs for the entire V.A. healthcare system. Specialize in the design and management of distance learning programs and website support. Work closely in collaboration with V.A. Central Office and the Undersecretary of Health. Supervise educational teams in the development of national programs. Assist in developing the criteria utilized for contractual arrangements with external vendors related to medical remote site training. Responsible for staff training in educational design and team building within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE RELATING TO POSITION
Responsible for the organization, direction, and management of the SRP medical teams involved with the processing of soldiers for mobilization and deployment. Have coordinated and worked closely with all major commands and individual USAR units to ensure adequate and timely processing of personnel for active duty deployment. Currently developing and expanding the innovative Health Intervention Promotion Program (HIPP) designed to improve unit readiness and reduce the number of non-deployable soldiers within the California Army National Guard. The initial success of this program was recognized with the presentation of the 2003 Army Surgeon General’s Excalibur Award for Excellence.
